Andy Morris – or A7 as he is known in the arts community – is an artist at heart. “Throughout my life, creativity has been the thread that weaves it all together”, he explains. He recently graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design, and has a passion for a diverse range of media, including painted, printed, sculptural, electronic, and video elements. In addition to obtaining his Bachelor of Fine Arts, Andy also has an education in computer science, and professional experience in information technology and systems analysis.
A7 is a conceptual artist who is currently creating a variety of drawings, paintings, and video art installations. His subjects are ever-changing, but are strongly tied to conceptual and philisophocal ideas surrounding human nature, including sexual diversity, violence, abuse, security, surveillance, and self-reflection. His work is concept driven, and he lets the nature of the work dictate the media and form.
